Kazuki Takamatsu is premiering 16 new paintings for the Dorothy Circus Gallery’s inaugural London exhibit, titled For Tomorrow. Twelve pieces will be displayed in their Rome location on June first, while four more will be present at the new space in Notting Hill, London on June second, including an older piece hailed as one of his best. Takamatsu has gained international acclaim for his paintings of young women that center on peculiarities in hair, clothes, and other details that often receive less attention. He contrasts these with dark backgrounds to emphasize his characters, evoking near-ghostly images.
