It has been such a strong start to 2020, with some major shows that have us so excited for the year in art. One artist in particular that we at Juxtapoz were so thrilled to have in our Basel Week 2019 in Miami showcase was Cassi Namoda, a Mozambique-born, LA/NY state-based painter who creates what almost appear to be scenes from a distant past, and yet with the emotion and contemporary language that feels so of the moment.
